After such an instance of acceleration, Andy jumped on the brakes and I'd bet the pavement folded up in front of the wheels. The braking opened my eyes to the ethos of the Veyron. It's... more. Moments later, we had pulled over and, after a few quick photos, I was in the driver's seat, facing a twisty bit of California side road with the sun on my face, the wind in my hair, and 1200 horsepower under my right foot.
While most of the dial variations of the Nomos Tetra feature playful executions of vibrant color, the “Tetra,” which technically could be called the “Tetra” model within the Nomos Tetra collection, uses the signature conservative Nomos color scheme, consisting of heat-blued hands, black indices, and a galvanized, white silver plated dial. It is also the one 29.5mm version of the Nomos Tetra that comes in both a steel back (,080) and a sapphire back (,320). When Nomos has shipped us stock watches of the model, they have arrived on the short shell cordovan strap. While the short strap will be the length of choice on models such as the Tangente and Orion for owner’s wrists that are between six and a half to seven inches, the Tetra’s shorter case makes the regular strap the length of choice for this size range.
On the plus side, each new connected watch that Samsung releases appears to be an improvement on the last generation. Samsung's latest watch is the Gear S, which is due out in October 2014, and on the surface, it looks like a dream product. The laundry list of features and promises is impressive, but we will see if Samsung can deliver on its new uber-smart watch when it comes to performance and reliability. Battery life is claimed at a scant 2 days per charge, so expect less than that with normal (heavy) use.
The Habring couple founded their own company in 2004, in an effort to create a brand that would cater to more discerning watch buyers looking for something beyond the more obvious brands and their collections. Where Habring2 managed to really stand out was in creating restrained, albeit rather unique-looking watches with equally unusual complications – with the Habring Doppel 3.0 (hands-on here) serving as the flagship among all of them. Now, let's begin with a look into the Habring2 manufacture, and then discuss the new A11 movement and Felix itself.
